Dr. Atul Raturi has a Ph.D. (IIT Delhi, India) and has worked at universities in India, Kenya, Papua New Guinea and now at the University of the South Pacific, teaching and researching Renewable Energy Technologies. His expertise include Development of solar cells & PV systems, Design and analysis of Solar-wind hybrid systems , Grid connected PV systems, Energy efficient window materials, Biofuels and RE policy. He has supervised more than 15 master’s thesis and coordinates 2 courses on renewable energy at the USP.
He has been a consultant to SEFP(World Bank), IUCN, ADB and UNEP. He is also a technical committee member of the Fiji Carbon Trading Board, Pacific Energy Advisory Group and a contributor to Fiji’s Second National Communication to UNFCCC. Dr. Raturi is a senior member of IEEE and a member of International Solar Energy Society. He is also a member of the Science Planning group on Sustainable Energy of ICSU –ROAP.
